Hello to all, my name is Karen.

We upgraded to a Home 11 license in 2006, licensed for 21 years total…Proud mother of two older children (23 and 25)….I am grandmother to 2 grand-kids, a 5 year old and a 3 year old!…devote my basement to childcare!

Philosophy

I believe as a child care professional, in providing appropriate building blocks to a successful future.  I have a passion for what I do – my heart is completely into my profession.

Education – Experience

I am CPR and First Aid Certified. 21 years licensed; I get involved with professional organizations such as Child Care Support Groups, Midwest Child Care Assoc., and NFCCA

College degree in Business, CPR and 1st Aid certified, member of various child care support groups, member of NFCCA and Midwest Child Care Association. Participant of Step Up To Quality Program and NAP SACC (Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child Care)

Foods and Naps :

I belong to the food program through Midwest Child Care Association which ensures that USDA meals/snacks are provided by myself, the provider. I provide various organic fruits and vegetables!

We have rest period from approximately noon until 2:30 in the afternoon.

Children over 12 months are provided a nap mat on which to rest/sleep.

Babies under 12 months are placed in federally approved play pens only.

Children are not required to sleep but must rest.

Curriculum :

I am very excited about my preschool curriculum! It is very hands-on interactive with new things to do and learn each day!  Your child won’t be just sitting at the table the whole time but rather up and active too! Occasionally, I will be asking for parental participation/donations with certain activities as this program is very interactive. Your child may not be bringing many worksheets home each week as this curriculum is more hands-on so a lot of the daily activities will be interactive (visual, physical, fine motor skills, science and math activities, baking, etc).

Other Availability :

I hold a 24 hour license with the State of Nebraska; I am able to accept weekend care, overnight care, drop-in care, as well as full-time/part-time and temporary care. I also accept title XX state subsidy including transportation. I also transport to area schools.
