I grew up in Omaha, graduating from Millard South High School in 1994. I earned an associate’s degree in business management from Metropolitan Community College. My husband, Loren, is President at Millard Electronics. We were married in April of 1998. We bought our Brookhaven home in May of 2000, and plan to grow old here. We have three school-age sons at Millard Central and Millard South. The furry member of our family is Max, our dog. He has excellent temperament and does not shed. We also have a parakeet named Pina, who sings along with the kiddos and brightens everyone’s day!
Kristin’s Kids is committed to providing high quality care in a safe and healthy environment. I hope to help your child develop physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually through vigorous play and stimulating activities. Most of all, I want Kristin’s Kids to be a place where your child loves to come each morning for friends and fun.
I’ve been baby-sitting since I was a teenager, and I now have three children of my own. I’ve been operating my in-home daycare since April of 2002. I’m state licensed, CPR and First Aid trained, and I complete a minimum of 12 hours of child-related training per year.
Early Learning Program
I am educated in early childhood education through “Partners with Providers,” a pre-school and kindergarten readiness provider education program offered through Millard Public Schools district. The program included extensive training through monthly teacher visits. I am proud to have been a part of the service from its very first year, and then benefit from its educational opportunities for eight consecutive years before graduating from the program. I average around 25 hours of continuing education hours per year (the state required minimum is 12) to keep abreast of the latest information available regarding infant and child development and education. Kindergarten Readiness through curriculum begins the year prior. I use a self-devised curriculum that promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children, tailored from various outlets and self-compilations, and advised by MPS.
My contract and handbook include all policies and procedures and is available to interested families.

Kristin’s Kids participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). All meals and snacks adhere to USDA recommendations. Breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided based upon the hours your child is in attendance.
Our schedule is fairly typical of most daycare settings, with reliable consistency that children thrive on but still leaves room for flexibility since we are an all-ages group. Our day typically goes like this: 7:30 arrivals, 8:00 breakfast, 8:45 structured/outdoor play, 10:00 circle time/centers, 11:30 lunch, 1:00 quiet time/preschool, 3:15 snack, 3:45 free play until departures.
