About Me

I thank you for your interest in Lots of Cuddles & Care. I have been providing child care for a decade and I enjoy every minute of it. I have worked in a center as a pre-toddler teacher and was then promoted to Assistant Director and I began not only working with every age from 6 weeks old to school age, but I also began working side by side with the parents/guardians. It was a very rewarding experience to run a facility that had approximately 100 families enrolled. This center was owned by Children’s Hospital and in 2001, the hospital decided to sell all of the daycare facilities. I then chose to continue teaching and caring for children by opening my own home child care.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to do what I love with a smaller group and find I really enjoy the benefits that a home child care provides. My own children love to help with projects and games when they are not in school.

We are a pet-friendly home. All of our pets are up-to-date on their annual shots & preventatives.

I believe that child care is a partnership that holds the child’s best interest as top priority and I am excited to work with you to ensure that your child is safe, secure and happy.

Philosophy

Our children are the most important priority we have in our lives. It is so important to feel comfortable and secure with the childcare environment you choose. I take pride on providing a safe, comfortable, and educational setting for the children I care for. I also believe that creativity is the key to a rewarding life, so I encourage children to use their imagination whenever possible.

Experience

I am certified in Child/Infant CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association. I also have an Associate’s Degree in professional studies.

Curriculum Program

I believe in hands-on learning and that is what we practice at Lots of Cuddles & Care.  I have introduced a variety of different activities to help the children that I care for learn, grow and have fun. I am currently using different preschool curriculum. We concentrate on numbers, letters, shapes, colors, pre-writing skills, cooking, music and more, focused around a monthly theme.  I will inform you of your child’s learning, play and meals so you will know what to ask him/her about at home. I have a large fenced yard for outdoor play.

Policies

I would be happy to discuss my Welcome Packet with you during our interview. It contains my handbook, contract, illness policy, etc. References are available in the Enrollment Packet.

We were lucky to find Kayla and LOCC nearly 10 years ago after moving to Omaha. My oldest was just 1 at the time. He had so much fun learning. It was home away from home. Two more kids and we have been customers since Jan 2007 and I have recognized how lucky we were. Her prices are competitive, she rarely (as in less than 5 days in 10 years) has unexpected closures. And a few of those were weather related! Kayla does a great job with the kids, teaches them about social skills and prepares them for school. If you are looking for a place your kids can spend their days, know they are in good hands and not pay out the whazoo….LOCC is a wonderful choice.

Great in-home daycare! My kids are very happy here and love going! I personally really like this one for many reasons, but most of all because my kids are well taken care of, happy to go and happy when I pick them up. I have use 3 other home daycare’s before this one and this is by far the best yet. If you are looking for a great in home daycare, you should definitely check LOCC out, you won’t be disappointed.

I really can’t say enough about Kayla and Lots of Cuddles and Care. She is truly one of a kind! This is a structured day care. Offering preschool to the children no matter what the age. My son was so ahead of the game in learning that he could have joined Kindergarten a year before his time. Kayla also helped to potty train and learn tying shoes. Not much to do I my end. Fabulous! I trust this woman! #1 in my book!

My daughter, Teegan, loved going to LOCC. She always had a big smile on her face when we would pull up to Kayla’s house, and would clap. It truly was a comforting feeling knowing that my child was in good hands, and that she enjoyed being there. Kayla is a super friendly person, and has a great demeanor towards the children. I definitely recommend LOCC to anyone looking for childcare.

I really enjoy bringing my children to LOCC. Kayla does a great job at preparing the kids for kindergarten with her preschool program. I also love knowing that my children are always safe and having fun at a home daycare. I’m glad that I found Kayla after going to many different centers because she has created a great learning environment that is also as comfortable as home.
